Post-Jam Fixes & Polishing
Golgi's Apparatus » Devlog

A week has passed since the Micro 45 Game Jam finished, and I was quite happy to discover I won the 4th place runner-up prize (Just one outside of an actual cash prize, figures!). The jam was a nice, needed creative outlet / break from my main project I'm working on at the moment, and it gave me the opportunity to experiment with some things in Godot that I haven't done in the other project. Now with the jam in the rearview mirror, because it had done relatively well, I figured it was worth my time to polish and fix things that weren't working correctly in the version submitted to the jam.
Fixes/Polishing/Updates Include:
- Removing the collision display lines for the fishing zone tiles
- Added music to previously silent parts of the game like the credits screen
- Fixed (mostly) fade-in and fade-out transitions that were not working in the jam version
- Adjusted T-Cell's aim so that is gradually rotates toward a target instead of snapping at it.
- Gives T-Cell's globule gun a hitbox so that if an enemy sneaks past the bullet generation spot they'll still receive damage
- Various typo fixes
- Replaced all the dialogue portraits with new more detailed sprites that match the relative resolution of the slot machine sprite.
- Fixed the performance / feel of the continue button when advancing dialogue segments
- Added 2 more detrimental "rewards" for the slot machine sequence: -20 health to each party member and bigger, hardier enemies
- Finally fixed the final dialogue cinematic to make it more apparent on what is happening when you "beat" the game.
